Ring in the Holidays with Added Security

ree

It was a year ago this week, during the 10 p.m. hour, when individuals began pounding on my door, demanding to be let in. Every attempt to look through the peephole was met with darkness, and I could see the potential intruders placing their hands over the door. To say it was terrifying would be an understatement.

I quickly moved to my bedroom, which was just one room away, shut the door, and called 911. Even with 20 feet and a closed door between me and the intruder(s), the 911 operator could hear the angry knocking. She stayed on the line with me until two police officers arrived just eight minutes later. The uninvited guests had the opportunity to escape in either direction along the breezeway, and they left with no clue as to why they were at my door.

The officers asked me if I had any idea who it might be. I mentioned my senior citizen status and joked that the highlight of my week was going to Jimmy's Egg to order from the 55-and-over menu. They chuckled. I concluded that the numbering on the apartment buildings can be confusing, and it seemed they had the wrong place at the wrong time.

Nevertheless, I was shaken for many days. My best friend from high school recommended I get a Ring Battery Doorbell, right in time for Black Friday and 50% off the unit.

$49.99 has bought me peace-of-mind for the last 12 months. My unit allows Head-to-Toe Video, Live View with Two-Way Talk, and Motion Detection and Alerts. I can see what's going on by my front door, even when I'm away from home. There are so many things you can purchase on Black Friday... but make security and safety your top priority.

Key Notes:

  • Ring doorbells are now owned by over 10 million Americans.
